Cocobelt - Car seat carrier

I was very kindly sent the Cocobelt to review and have been using it for a couple of months now. Car seats are very bulky and heavy and most of all hard to carry. Most of the time we only carry them a little way - but even so they are extremely awkward to hold.

The Cocobelt is a solution to the problems you might face when carrying a car seat from A to B - it helps to distribute the weight evenly and you can use your whole body rather than the bend in your arm to carry the weight. This is my second child and I did not remember how heavy car seats actually were until I needed to use one again so having a helping hand was very useful. The idea is very simple but as far as I know there is nothing else about which does the same thing. The belt is very good quality and strong so you don't feel as though you have no control over the seat and aswell as helping to evenly distribute the weight of the seat it also leaves your hands free to do or hold other things if need be.

The only thing I found with the belt is that my back would ache after a long period of time - just like it would if I were carrying the seat on its own but this is to be expected with such a heavy item. I would never suggest carrying a seat for a long while unless needed anyway as it does put strain on you and usually we only need to go for a small distance. It is great value for money as it seems to be sturdy and strong, I have found it here for £21.99 which is not over the top expensive considering you would pay that amount or more for other baby accessories.

I found the Cocobelt easy to set up - although I did have to read the instructions 2 or 3 times before it was clear to me what I had to do. You first have to attach Velcro strips to your car seat handle and these attach to the Velcro on the cocobelt itself. Once you have attached the strips to the car seat the cocobelt attaches very easily and quickly, There are two Velcro strips provided with the belt, this means that the belt can be worn on either your right or your left side and you can also lengthen or shorten the belt so that other people can use the belt - for example your partner. It is suggested that the seat hangs at hip height for maximum comfort.

I have been using the Cocobelt for a while now and whenever I forget it, its a lot harder. This product definitely makes sense and makes life a lot easier - I do not drive so I use a seat less than others might and can imagine the struggles you would have if you needed to use one more often. I would recommend this to any of my Mum friends or any of you Mummies out there who are reading this its brilliant.

Please note: Although your hands are left free when using the Cocobelt it is suggested that you keep your arm hooked at all times for safety reasons. Like I have said the belt is sturdy and strong but the results of not doing so could be very dangerous so please always keep this in mind :).

There are different colours available you can view them on the Cocobelt website here.

You can look for a retailer in your area on their site here. (or you can order them online too!)

(pictures to come, computer playing up please bear with me you guys :)...)
